Anyone know if ruger is still backed up? Im looking for a New model Blackhawk convertable .357 / .9mm. cant find any on the shelf, was wondering what I should expect on lead time if I ordered.

Can only find used, anyone waiting an extremly long time on thier orders?

Last I heard Ruger was filling their backorders first, then accepting new orders. One reason for the scarcity of the SR1911, Coogs.

I ordered a New Model Blackhawk .45 convertable about 2 months ago and it was delivered in about 15 days. I guess it depends on which Ruger you're after.

Hey PA the .45 I think is more popular and therefore more readily available, I say that because I've seen a lot more of them for sale online and at the local gun store. I am going to call Ruger and ask. I was just thinking if anyone had ordered a 9 mm convertable latley I could get an idea.

I could get a used one online, but I think I want a new one. Unless I could find a pre-owned unfired one.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

Why not check with your dealer and have him see what lead time is. He'd be the one to know depending on which distributors he uses.

Thanks again, Im going to check with my local shop, I was just trying to get a feel for anyone that was looking for the same gun I was.

I've been reading about the Ruger shortage for quite sometime. Today I went to a VA gun show and there were Ruger's as far as the eye could see. Tons of SA's, LC9's, LCP's, SR's, .22's and rifles. However, I didn't see many S or GP's and not a single SR1911.

Didn't I just go through a thread where people were talking bad about kel-tec b/c they can't keep up with production and Ruger, S&W and the likes would never do that...

If you want one put in an order now.

ANYTHING "tactical," which includes a 9mm&357 revolver is going to be in short supply as we get close to the election and other forecast events for the end of this year.

I was talking to the owner of a local gun shop and he said Ruger is backed up 12 months now. Also, that Ruger as something like 1,700 SKUs (unique items to sell, could be guns, hats, etc.) and has inventory for only 300 of them. Plus, there are still guns in their distribution channel. So you may be able to get one or not depending on the model and your location, etc.

You can't order directly from Ruger. They don't sell to individuals or local gun shops, only distributors. If there's a specific gun you want then you need to have your LGS order one from their distributor or call around until you find one.

Shadi, Where in Va. was the Gun show? Im going to one here in Hampton next weekend, Hoping They Have the 9 mm Convertable. Did you happen to see any?

If they don't have any at the show, I think I will be calling Buds, They have one for $450.00

I'm in N. Va, right outside of D.C, quite a ways from hampton. The show leaves town today but I did see plenty of blued convertibles. I think buds is your best bet as the prices I saw were pretty high.

I just left a gun store and they had them. Not going to help you as it is northern IL. As per the staff at the store they will not get anything new from Ruger until they can catch up on their orders.

If you really want a Ruger hang on. Don't get something you may regret letter. This is a gun that will last your lifetime so don't settle for second best. I would rather see Ruger hold off on orders than hack them out.

Master Blaster, are you serious? Talk around me is everyone trying to round things out before election time and all the other events. This is probably the biggest year for decades as far as specific forecast events is concerned.
