Ruger 22/45 issue

On the main spring housing, that little lever that you pull down in order to open it, are you able to do that? if not, try pushing it up as you do it. If you manage to do that, your problem will be simple to fix. Like Luke said, there is that little pin that should be in the down position as you put in the main spring housing in.
If it was up, is probably what got stuck.

Luke, I am unable to disassemble gun. The main spring only comes out about 3/8". Some how I managed to create several issues lol. I will go over all these great ideas when I get home tonite. You guys have been great! I'll check more videos tonite as well. If this does not work, I think I'm gonna be looking for a gunsmith.

Shecky, Do you have the Ruger owners manual? If so read the disassembly
and reassembly sections. There is a very good description of the process.
If you don't have the manual , it's on the Ruger website and easily downloaded.
I found it a valuable tool when first working on my 22/45.

good luck.......................... Jack

You are going to want to get this.

I put one in my 22/45 and it made a world of difference. Mags drop free, better trigger, and reassembly is the same as a MKII. No more inserting the magazine and removing it all the time to get the thing back together. Tandemkross has video instructions on YouTube on installing the thing too.

The first time I put my 22/45 back together I almost gave up and sent it back to Ruger. I had to reread the instructions several times before I finally figured it out. The magazine disconnect is evil. I was used to the MKII and the MKIII threw me off. You are not alone. Seriously though, get the bushing and ditch the mag disconnect. You will thank me later.

22/45 Ruger

Had 22/45 that reciever backed off lower frame during reassembly. Did same
thing. I pried out lever with wood dowel rod. Took out bolt, smacked muzzle
down on a book. This reseated reciever and lower frame. Put back together as
per instructions, no problem.
