So I previously got all your opinions on the the barrel length of a rossi m92. I'm now leaning towards the 20 inch barrel.

Do you have any opinions or suggestions on the finish? blued vs stainless? which one do you own or have handled?

I have a 357 in stainless and a 454 Casull that is blued. The 454 Casull is used mainly for hunting (hogs) so I got it blued because you don't want a glint of your stainless steel to notify your prey. That's why traditionally rifles are blued. The 357 is mostly for plinking so I wanted it to be pretty and I think stainless is prettier. So I think it mostly depends upon your desired use.

yea, atm it will be for target shooting, but I would like it to carry over to hog hunting. I really dont get the chance to hunt hogs that often though. I'm thinking I'll maybe get the opportunity once or twice a year. In that case I could probably deal with a stainless and trying to hid the shine. Also I'd be hunting in Southern Louisiana. It can get pretty dark in the marsh and woods :P

Get both. I like stainless.

Is the place for parts, sights, and DIY tuning.

I read those bolt mounted safeties may fall off. Above website sells a plug to replace the safety. He also sells a metal magazine tube follower. You might look into his action job dvd. I haven't needed it on mine but I bought mine well used.

Rossi M92's are fun guns but... their kinda like an AK, you might need to do a little work on them. Shooting the heck out of them slicks em up too.

Hickock45 does a good review on them:

candeljackstraw: I have been shooting a SS Round 20in barreled 45LC Rossi m92 for the last 15 years or so. It holds 10 rounds and I really like the little rifle, and I use it for every thing. The action was a little stiff at first but it slicked right up after probably 200 rounds. And I set and worked the action alot when I first got it. Now it is as smooth as silk. I Cowboy Shoot with it, I plink with it, and I hunt with it mostly Pigs, Deer, and small game. I have even killed a few Coyotes with it mainly because I carry my little Rossi alot when I am just out walking around and I have suprised alot of varmints while doing so. The load I use most of the time is a 250gr or 255gr Hard Cast LRNFP bullets and 7grs of Win 231 mostly at about 950fps. In both my 45lC Pistol`s & Rifles. I have yet to shoot any thing with that load I did not get full pentration either side by side or end for end. And that bullet always leaving a 2 good blood trails to follow with I rarely have to do very often. Because the knock down power of thoes big LRNFP bullets usually the animal is laying pretty close to where it was hit. IMHO the Hard Cast LRNFP bullets feed so much smoother than any other SWC bullets I have tried.
