I don't have the 45, I have the 357mag, purchased new last year. Zero complaints here. It's as slick as I need it to be, could imagine a slicker action is going to make it performs better outside of competition shooting. The internal LOOK rough, but you can't feel it. Overall it's a beautiful rifle and the only lever that was in my budget. So long as I stay with ammunition that has a slightly rounded or tapered profile and not under min coal, then it feeds 100%. The action is stout even on my 357. I wouldn't see how it wouldn't take stronger loads than even the biggest Ruger out there.
