If you are interested in getting him into the White House, it's time to roll up your sleeves and get to work. He'll get no help from the media or the RNC, so if you're serious, you'll have to work.

Join your local Ron Paul Meetup group so you'll be able to coordinate your efforts with the rest of us. If there isn't one, you can start your own (which will instantly put you in contact with the campaign staff) or join the nearest one. You don't have to be physically present to help.

At the risk of being a party pooper, I don't think the the L&P forum was intended as a staging area for candidates, fledgling or otherwise. Its one thing to talk about Paul's positions (in every 3rd thread) but its another to start posts which are simply endorsements.

Of course the mods are free to do as they wish.

Ah, come on, guys. If GoSlash wants to provide meet-up information to Paul supporters, what's wrong with that?

While I fully support Ron Paul and am taking a good hard look at that website, unless we're discussing Dr Paul's political stances or something else about him relating to the legal and/or political issues he's involved in it kind of doesn't meet the standards for this subforum. :o

Dang, moderators coming out of the wood work. Please people grow up, if you
don't like a thread move on, no need to tell mommy.

Wish I could, but there's not may place to conviently meet up in bush AK.:(

Beside, most of the folks out here vote for who offer them the most on the public dole.

Hey I saw this thread so thought I would drop in from reality to see how Fantasia Land is going :):D

stevelyn,
There are two groups in Alaska. One in Anchorage and one in North Pole. They can still use your help, even if you can't get to the meetings.

WA,
Things are going pretty well so far out here in "Fantasia Land". 11,000 volunteers organized, 3,000 waiting for groups, and more coming in every day. I'm hosting a sign painting party at my house in 2 weeks, and Ron Paul's gonna be on the Colbert Report tomorrow.
How's things going for your boy Rudy? I see he did... fairly well in that Utah straw poll...:p

15,000 volunteers? Sounds OK for someone running for the state house in a sparsly populated area, but president? Do you guys have any idea how many votes it takes to win a presidental primary?

On the plus side, Paul may keep the lunatic fringe busy while the republicans actually nominate someone who can win instead of a far right lunatic

while the republicans actually nominate someone who can win instead of a far right lunatic

and who would that be? a far left lunatic with the same positions as Bush? :barf: The pro bush wafflers may win the republicrat nomination but they won't win the general election just on the fact of their iraq pro war agenda. It's final, we will withdraw from iraq in 2008 with or without a republican president. So if you think it's good for our 2nd A rights to have a democrat as president nominate the best pro Bush clone you can find because that's what's going to happen, guaranteed!

I suspect McCain, Romney and FT are going to start waffling on iraq soon because the writings on the wall but it will be too little alot too late for any of them in the general election. I still can't figure out how Rudy is polling #1 among republicans with his bogus, two-face, posing with Chucky "I support the BoR's, har" Schumer, anti-gun positions. Must be his 911 fear-monger pimpage.

If you'll take notice, Hilliary is doing the oprah style stage-dance "oh dear" appearances now in between giving forceful presidential style speeches denouncing the iraq war. Bill is a political marketing genius and her popularity is skyrocketing. So you guys do the math, 70% of the people want us out of the iraq quagmire, 30% don't and think the Bush Doctrine of a "new world order" American Empire building is just fine sacrificing about 50-100 and permanently disabling 100's of America's Bravest a month for what? So "we don't have to fight them over here"? That's what ICE, the border patrol, the fbim cia, cruise missles, predators and smart bombs are for. "Freedom's on the march"? That's their problem and goal to attain.

Ron Paul is the only republican that will draw the moderates from both parties. I spoke with a woman that is registered republican that I work with the other day after she brought up that she has decided who she's going to support. I thought to myself, oh auntie em, this will be a good one. She floored me when she said Ron Paul. I asked her why and she said she saw him in the NH debate and his answer to the question of gays in the military had totally impressed her, she's gay, with his unbiasedness, honesty and sincerity and that he will pull us out of iraq. Imagine that, it's the behavior that matters not the person. Where have we heard that before in relation to gun control? uh, right here my freinds. Do you think that Ron Paul is onto something here? That little thing called Freedom, maybe.

So just go ahead and nominate the gun banning, "I just joined the NRA", "I'm a hunter", I support the 2nd A but I will sign an AWB/semi-automatics/handguns/ammo/magazine ban if it comes to my desk", "for the children", "my positions are a secret until I formally announce and the BoR's and "I" will "grant" your rights" and "I'm a poser", candidate over the one, with a proven record supporting freedom and the people, that has sponsored congressional bills repealing most of the unconstitutional gun control law in the land of the once free and the home of the I'm scared of terrists.

:barf:

Just curious, how would you guy feel about a huckabee-paul campaign? or paul-huckabee, since the ones with longer names usually end up running for vice-pres :p

Wasn't Huckabee one of the three dunces with his hand raised? Yeah, great running mate material there. Perhaps he'd be happier at the Creationist "Museum".

Huckabee made a strong statement with his answer to the cre/evol question. He appeared to have his strong personal religious values but also respects all others. That's what we (Republicans) need. The days of being the glo-bal-bully will soon be over because that's what the people want and that is the only way to survive. Bush just pulled the patriot card on immigration, "If you're not with me you are unpatriotic" and it doesn't fly anymore. The people are not stupid and by Bush throwing the patriot card for immigration just shows how he really thinks.

I like Huckabee alot. He is also a VERY good speaker. I also like Tancredo. Far more than the anti Bill of Rights "rudymcromney" party. Fred Thompson? Who knows what his real positions are? He supported McCain Fiengold, the unpatriot act and I couldn't find his vote on Lautenberg that ex post facto-ed more citizens than any gun ban besides Reagan's and Bush Sr's bans who effectively banned all of us. I personally don't want to see another actor/lobyist in the WH. Reagan BANNED our full-autos forever and for that I can never forgive him.

Can either of them win the general election? I don't know but they both appear to be distancing themselves from the Bush doctrine and the farther they move the better chance they will have.

JMHO.

I thought we needed someone with enough brain cells to rub together to make a fire. I'm sorry but a man that doesn't believe in science shouldn't be running an auto shop let alone the most technologically advanced nation on the planet. Disbelief in evolution shows an inability to reason, a lack of logical, rational thinking.

We are all just waiting for Fred ;)

Disbelief in evolution shows an inability to reason, a lack of logical, rational thinking.

That would be the deciding issue for me btw...if we have a repub candidate that does not beleive in evolution, hell Id vote for Hillary and puke.

Ron Paul is the only republican that will draw the moderates from both parties.

Thats the most unsupportable statement I've seen in a long time.

Paul can't draw a bucket of water much less any substantial support. Have him stand in front of a bunch of democrats and give his speech about cutting government programs and getting rid of the department of education and see how many people he "draws".

Paint your signs and faces and it won't change a thing except wasting time and money. Paul won't pull more than 3% in the primary. Its that simple.
