Roll Call

Schuey2002 -
What ...no scattergun! We taught you better than that. ;) Great to see you Schuey.

Denny, NICE !
Mind sharing the particulars with us Sir?

It is so neat to be here again with old friends and making new ones.

[ya know some of us remember the original "tie dye" days...not this re-awakening - right Denny? ]

Good to see you too, Steve. Oh, by the way, it's Brian.. ;)

Yeah, I used to own a Remmy 870 pumper. It was black, evil, and pre-ban. Wouldn'tcha know it, I sold the stupid thing.. I kick myself everytime someone even the words "Rem. 870"..

One of these here days I going to buy another shotgun, it's just that those dang-blasted Germans have me in under their evil spell.. One of these days I'll grow ty-red of "all things HK" (somehow their shotguns never did anything for me, just their 'mag-fed' weaponry), and I'll pick me up a good 'ole fashioned American shotgun..

One of these days.. :D :p :D

870 Express started with a 20" barrel and factory sights that I traded for Model 36 S&W. Hey, the guy just had to have it!

I replaced the front sight with an XS white stripe and filled in the dovetail from the original rear sight with epoxy. Added an XS ghost ring on the receiver. After bead blasting, the external metal parts finished with Brownells Baking Laquer in earth brown, with the innards finished with Brownells moly-teflon in the same color. Lengthened the forcing cone and cut the stock off about an inch for improved LOP. Added the SureFire forend, SideSaddle, Tac-Star mag extension. Single-point sling is from the Wilderness.

ah ha. I don't recall seeing a pic before. I do recall you sharing the mods tho'. VERY NICE job sir!
Obviously the XS is holding up well. I really like the XS. I have used the smaller one in place of the front bead nothing for rear sight...other than my eye.

Even so I was able to aquire targets as I would with factory front bead. Bradleys - for me- block my abililty to see targets downrange quickly using slugs...adjusting for "KY windage".

" you done good" I like the set -up.

Checking in from the state of Washington and very happy to be back. :)

I like THR, but have not had time to post recently. It just did not seem as much like home since TFL went down. It was just by chance that I saw a post about THR closing down or I probably would not have know this news for days or weeks.

I'm here (again?)...

870 are just fine (I have four in various configurations from pretty duck gun to ubergeek tactical), but if it isn't a USAS-12 it is just a pretender to the ubergeek market :)

Ditto on the first time part.

I'm gonna have to get myself a respectable shotgun if I want to hang around here, it appears. All I have is that Legacy Escort Aimguard (quite a mouthful). It serves well for HD.

I need to throw some lead no matter what its coming out of...

Hello to those just arriving.

kudu... I thought you were a member...nevermind...I get into trouble when I think.

Mike do a search on first shotguns. Then again there "might" be a suggestion or recommendation we could come up with if you need help :D

"Thumbs UP"

Hey Spinner!
You made it!
Welcome aboard my friend.

[ okay who stole the durn "thumbs up" dealies...oh well.. Improvise, Adapt, Overcome] :D

Okay , I was working on a reply in my email response to you...err...I'll edit that part about you getting your butt over here at TFL. :p

Gee Willikers...are we having fun or what?

dang

Well it won't be me ...but did I tell y'all about my new uber tactical black 3.5" bumpin-thumper....its...THE ULTIMATE....

Dang, 3.5"? I have to get one that will fire 3" first!

More of a lurker here. Much more to learn then to share.

Sending hate downrange with my '97, a WWII Stevens 620, and a DSPS.
