Rock River Arms PWA AR15

John: You seem to be missing the point. Given the same cleaning regimens, chrome-lined barrels will last thousands of shots longer than will non-chrome-lined barrels.

Walter, as usual, it's you that miss the point. I said that a chrome lined barrel wasn't a necessity, and I still stand by that statement. The gun shoots just fine without it, and I'll take me a long time to wear out all the rifles that I have without chrome lined barrels.

John, maybe I did miss the point. At any rate, I clearly stated that non-chrome barrels work just fine, and, in fact, are generally more accurate than chrome. I was confused at your posts, in that you didn't seem to address the longevity issue, but rather alluded a couple of times to the issue of ease of cleaning.

The specs on the RRA limited edition rifle looked pretty impressive to me. I'd guess that adding chrome barrel and chamber and an A-2 configureation would add a little to the price. I'm just more familiar with Bushmaster, and my experience with Bushy has been outstanding.

I had the opportunity to handle a Wilson Combat AR at our local range and was surprised to see that they utilize a RRA lower. I'm sure that RRA quality is superb. Enjoy your rifle. (I certainly have enjoyed mine.)

Walter, John no flames intended.
Chrome lined barrels and chambers may be the great thing since sliced bread, what ever.
Statement have been made pro and con, Accuracy issues, cleaning issues, and longjevity issuses.
I feel being a shooter that if I live long enough to shoot out a barrel the is not Chrome Lined...That would be something.
Until I bought A Bushmaster AR I had no idea what Chrome Lime was about.
I shoot anything I clean it. I put 15,000 rounds through a S&W 745 and I bought it used.....Shooting IPSC. I sold it and the lands and grooves were pristine.

Chrome Lined...piont well taken, they last longer.
No Chrome they MAY shoot better......Regaurdless....TAKE CARE OF YOUR GUNS.

Clean them, oil them and if the need should ever come up you will be served well......they went bang.
You see I also Scuba Dive......that is also my own equipment and I care for it as well. 100-150 feet down and a problem is a bad deal.

Sorry...care for you stuff and it will last longer and be worth more in the long run
