Rock island armory 1911

I like the RI. Smooth pistol for the money. I have a Citadel 1911 now which comes down the same assembly line in the Philippines. Same critter. It has the combat hammer and skeletonized trigger as standard. Rural King had them last week for $349. Not checked to see if they are still that this week. Get it in 9mm and it will be cheaper to shoot than in 45.
 
I bought one recently. Great pistol. Changed out the grips to A1 brown nylon style.

They are just good, basic pistols. And sometimes that is just what the doctor ordered.
 
Yes I would look in to them. Now you can (what I think is) get a really cool 1911 from them in 9mm that also shoots there 22TCM round. Its a 9mm necked down to a 40gr 22 at 2,000 fps. All you need to do is put in the 22,TCM barrel that comes with it. It sounds real cool to me. I read about it in American Handgunner July/August 2014.
