Rock Island 1911

I love my tactical FS in .45 ACP. Feeds anything and is very accurate. Not one single hiccup in four years. I tossed the ACT mag and got CMC flush mount mags and changed the grips. The trigger was a little gritty but broke nice. I did some smoothing on the sear and hammer notch and inside the trigger channel and it is a very nice smooth trigger now.

I got a used one a few weeks ago. Sort of like you, I wanted a 9mm because I didn't want to have to lay out cash for stuff to reload another cartridge (I'm already set up for 9mm.)

I took it to the range the other day for the first time and had a little trouble with it with my reloads, but with factory ammo it worked just fine. A real delight to shoot, and as much as I hated to admit it, (I think of myself as a revolver guy), I shoot it a lot better than I do a revolver. I was almost able to hit the target.

I don't care much for that billboard, but I can live with it.

The new ones don't have the billboard. Just a small logo at the rear of the slide. Mine is the model before the white billboard. Its pretty close to the same but is black on black. This is an old pic with the first set of grips I put on it and before I got rid of the ACT mag.

................... I ordered a couple of magazines from Advanced Tactical; which should be here in a couple of days.................
They arrived today and were Mec-Gar magazines. Same as the one that came with the Rock.
