In defense of Tasco..........
Those of you who hate Tasco are misguided. Tasco does not manufacture their own scopes. They buy their glass from the same places as the higher end manufacturers do, therefore, and they can dictate the quality levels of their scopes as they see fit. If their niche is the lower end scope market...so be it. That's where they feel they can make their money because not everyone can afford top notch scopes. However, when they decided to market the Super Sniper, their intention was to market a high end, quality product. The military must have thought it was a good enough scope - they awarded Tasco a contract.
Admittedly, I have had other Tasco scopes in the past and they were not the greatest, however, I got what I paid for. The Super Sniper is the exception to this, not the rule.
Ok, back to the central focus of this thread. I have another sniper question. In the movie "Shaving Ryan's Privates" what type of rifle did the U.S. sniper use?
