Rifle scope focus vs parallax

Seems like the VX-1 4x12's I have are focused around 150yds, there's alot of parallax at 100yds and it doesn't seem to go away until around 200yds, that's with them set on 12x.
Regardless it's a pretty unimpressive scope as compared to the vintage 4x12 vx 2's from the 80's and 90's.
It's a perfectly capable big game scope for the money but if they didn't have that LRD reticle in them I'd look for something else.

That doesn't make sense.

Scopes are always parallax free at the range they are focused at.

Note that setting the scope focus to some range mark doesn't guarantee it'll be perfectly focused and zero parallax at that distance.
