Rifle cleaning and Kroil

Thanks to all!!
I used Ballistol years ago. When I bought a Benelli shot gun at their suggestion. I found that Kroil got more lead and carbon out of the bore of my 45-70 (lead only bullets) than did the Bore Tech Eliminator and the Wipe Out. I have learned, thanks to you all, that Kroil is not as good a protectant as CLP, Ballistol and others, but will they clean lead as well?
Thanks, Bill

I use Kroil & JB Compound in cleaning, finish with Wipe-Out Patch-Out also found Ballistol to be the slickest lube ever, great stuff. I don't leave oil in the barrel for target shooting season only for long storage 6 months. Only shoot in the worm weather.

Ive read that bronze wool wrapped around a bore brush takes tough leading out in just a few passes.

I just read that I should be given a million dollars.

We are using Hoppes 9 mixed 50 50 with Kroil and it works very well for copper and crud but use a copper cleaner until no longer indicating.

Lead is best done with lead cleaner or the Lewis Lead Remover with final cleaner of your choice (I read is not a choice!)

I think a lot of stuff works. Kroil is not that costly, works well but so do other items. I can find it easily in the he liquid and small amount last long time.

I use oil as the final protection.
