Restrain Your Language - But Never Forget!

I know, AZ. I know.
I just told myself it was part of an airplane, not the airman.

Didn't work.

Last night I was rubbing the sides of my jaw.
My smartypants wife said, "It's a wonder you have any teeth left. Your jaws weren't meant to be locked THAT hard for two days!"

I growled.
She smiled slightly and nodded sympathetically.
I'm a lucky man. She understands. :)

Here is a link to many of the pictures all at one place.

I have never seen clearer pictures of what, exactly, we are fighting against. I am trying to make sure that every veteran in the United States sees theese pictures.

As an aside, did anyone see Col. David Hackworth on Hannity and Colmes last night? He said he had been getting 2000 e-mails a day from military personnel, and that many of them have been saying "Forget the Boston Tea Party, it's time for The Florida Chad Party!!" I bet that got some peoples attention.

Dennis,

Your post has caused me personal distress.

I know you are just the messenger, but... well just when you think he will no longer be able to offend those who answered the call and served...

I have to go now.

William

Well, I'm going to make trouble. All the chest pounding
and wailing is a little too much.

We are currently friends with the land of the Nazis
and the guys who bombed Pearl Harbor.

Nixon visited China whose troops fought ours in Korea.

The Vietnam war is over. We lost. Life goes on.
Visits like this can bring the Vietnamese back
into community of nations. We may even effect
change in their government.

Clinton is a bum, so was Nixon. But it is better
to jaw than war (Churchill) - so get over it.

Sometime we were going to have to deal with the
Vietnamese.

Clinton avoided the draft - so did many Americans.
The Vietnames whooped us.

So, we shouldn't 25 years later have decent relationships.
Is this worse than we brought back our pet Nazis to the US
after WWII?

So I see a lot of emotion but not real politcal savvy
here.

Enoch-you are missing the point.

It is not the fact that "That man" went to Vietnam. It is the fact that he wore an outfit that resembled the UNIFORM OF THE ENEMY. And there is no way it was a mistake. It was a deliberate slap in the face to everyone who fought in that war or lost loved ones in that war.

The people who are outraged are outraged at THAT, not at the fact that the U.S. is trying to establish relations with Vietnam.

Please try and understand the difference.

Enoch - Yes, we fought a war with Germany and now relations are normal. But our leaders do not wear a red armband with a swasticka while they visit Germany; it would be in poor taste. I would like to see the US have better relations with VN. It could have many benefits, one being helping to heal old wounds. But when our leaders dress like the former enemy, it helps not at all and hurts a great deal. Had Klinton's attire been different, we wouldn't be raising such a stink.

Enoch,

Just for your info, the VC/NVA did not 'whoop' us. If anything we whipped ourselves with our socialist, defeatist government. My experience was that we defeated them every time we met. This was experienced through three tours with the USMC. Klinton is a DISGRACE. He and his troglydite wife need to stay there ... guess they are back. Too late! I personally don't hate the Viets ... just the scum in this country that abandoned us and spat on us when we returned.

Facts vs. History

Enoch:
We did not lose the war in Vietnam. The victory that our troops won in the field was given away to placate our own anti-war sentiments and public opinion fanned by persons like Jane Fonda and William Jefferson Blythe Clinton.
For a view other than your own may I refer you to Col. David H. Hackworth, http://www.hackworth.com/

Much of this thread is contributed by people with actual personal involvement in Vietnam and/or with the continuing MIA/POW issues.
I seriously doubt that many people are as upset with Clinton's trip as they are with what is perceived as his callous disregard the military, the veterans and the families of POW/ MIA's.
Bill Clinton for all of his faults is not purely ignorant. He knew exactly what effect his black pajamas would have and he reveled in the opportunity. He knows he is on his way out and he finally wants to invite all of us to kiss his ass.
Look for a lor more of this in the future.

Think about it. Do you think that Hillary and Chelsea innocently donned those particular hats because the sun was shining or because they saw an opportunity to emulate one of their socialist, feminist anti-war heroines?
You be the judge.
