...Restart the cautionary thread on J& G Sales!!!

Cheaper than Dirt - have purchased ammo from them on numerous occasions and thay always got it right and were expeditious in delivery.

Also have had good experience with Midwest Gun Exchange.

Wow--sorry to hear about the seriously bad experiences with R Guns. A year or two ago I ordered a number of Glock and SIG mags from them without a hitch. The only exception was one factory P228 mag that R Guns said was new but that was obviously used. They replaced it willingly even though not altogether cheerfully. Anyway, it sounds like I was lucky.

I bought some pre-ban 20-round AR mags from R-Guns, advertised as new. They looked like they'd originally been 5-round mags with riveted spacers whose rivets had been drilled out and the spacers removed. This didn't seem to matter much, so I kept them.

The folks at Georgia Arms are okay to deal with and seem honest. I hope they got a new shipping clerk, though. Two of my last three orders were filled incorrectly. GA made good on them, however.

Here is another one to add to the list. Shootersstore.com is looking like a dishonest company. I ordered some .357SIG ammo about 3 months ago for $7.65 a box(50). When I check on the order they send a generic response stating that the entire industry is behind in the manufacture of 357SIG ammo. I noticed on their site that they still have the ammo listed and not "Out-OF-Stock" or "Back-ordered" for $4.00 more per box. I think they are trying to avoid honoring the price they sold it for.

Over the last few years I've bought a lot of ammo from J&G after checking around several mail order ammo places advertised in Shotgun News and here on the web. As usual, some places beat J&G on some items and J&G beats some others on other items. Overall, I've had excellent service from J&G - even to calling them after I've placed an order and getting the warehouse to add more before the order was shipped. They've hung onto my backorders way past my remembering that I had done so and called me when they received the ammo. They've gone that extra bit to help when I needed advice on different loads or bullets. When their computer has told them they have only 200 rounds of a particular cartridge left, and their warehouse found more, they've called me. Yep, I'm happy with them - at least for ammo.

If you want really good ammo at very fair prices call Cole Distributing, they have a very good reputation (on Bowers board and several others).

I, too, have found Jersey City Armory to have great prices. And the guy who runs it is very helpful. Had a little delay on my ammo order, but he was very apologetic and got it out right away when I asked about it. He even sent my gun 2nd day after it took so long for them to get a copy of my local gun dealer's FFL, and it wasn't even his fault.

He's a good guy to deal with and he has great prices -- what more could you want?
(I don't work for the guy, btw, he's just treated me right -- not a common thing these days!). You can check him out at:

Do not under any circumstances place an order
from Botach! I promise you will be sorry! I personaly know three people including myself that had had endless problems with their company within the last two months. Their customer service is the worst I have ever seen. They will always promise you that the order is on the way then you will never see it. When you call to find out the problem someone who speaks "broken english" will wnat to take a number where "someone will call you right back." Do not be fooled with thoses low prices. They are low because you will never get your order.
Ammoman is DaMan as far as ordering ammo. If there is a problem or you are not satisfied he will take it back. Walmart won't even do that! Ammoman Keep up the great CS!

I have heard very good things about Ammoman also on other boards. Pays to treat people right in the gun business, bad news travels real fast.

To reaffirm what was said about Jersey City Armory.
I have yet to find someone with better pricing on Handguns, and it's a small business run buy a real nice up-front kind of guy.

I still kick myself when I see he sells a NIB Ruger Mark II Competition .22 at the same price I bought mine Used!!!

Well, consider you've just found them -- Bachmangun and KY Imports. The prices are sometimes substantially lower than those of JCArmory. I know at least a couple of more with prices lower than JC, but I'm at work now and don't have all the bookmarks.

You PROMISE?! I've purchased from Botach probably 8 or 10 times. The only problem was with them not notifying me about the delay in shipment of the very first order I'd placed with them. Other than that, I got all my orders promptly and fast.

I have to agree with everyone about R guns. I bought an HK USP sight tool and got a piece of junk. the pusher rod mauled the rear sight, and no they were not helpful.
CDNN is GREAT. I also like Lightforce USA. Better than a Leupold or Schmitt & Bendover, and truly concerned with the customer.

Emin,

So all these tales of woe on KY Imports and you recommend them? No thanks. I'll stick to people with a 100% track record like Greg Monte at www.jcarmory.com and Dan Tobin of Dan's Sporting Goods.

As for Botach, just a cursory examination of the posts here and at www.glocktalk.com reveals that the majority of the people that post have been either treated poorly or ripped off. I don't doubt you've had good experience with them, but the odds are against the outcome being good.
