Response from CZ to request for new 10mm

Good grief the 10mm just can`t get a fair shake can it? For those who can`t handle it it "kicks to much". For those who are into .44mags and such it`s "not much more powerful than a .40". To guys who think it`s too powerful it "shoots guns to pieces" even when the same guns shoot .45 Super just fine with a recoil spring change. It`s got "too much kick" even though it`s softer loads are just as light or just a little hotter than a .40. Oh yeah that brings up the durability things again, med. frame guns can shoot hot .40 loads "forever" but large frame guns fall apart if you shoot milder 10mm loads that are very similar? C`mon, who`s not usin their noodles here? Let`s get this straight once and for all, the 10mm is not some mystery caliber and should not be treated as if it is. In almost any gun ever chambered for it it kicks less than a 125gr. full power .357 load out of a 4" revolver, even with hot hunting loads. If you can`t handle that get a 9mm and leave everyone else alone. How much wear it will cause on a gun depends on the loads chosen and weight of the recoil spring just like any other round. Shoot lots of +P+ ammo through most 9mms and you`ll wear it out faster,or lots of .45+P or Super through a .45 and it too will wear out faster. Oh and don`t forget .400 Corbon a virtual 10mm clone. No mystery here. As for the 10mm being dead, ask any ammo manufacturer how the sales of their 10mm ammo has been. Corbon,Proload and Georgia arms will tell you it`s been selling better every years for the last several years. The guns don`t sell? One dealer near me stocks 2 Glock 10mms and a Witness 10mm as standard inventory,I drop in once a month or so and they`re either gone or there are different ones there. Recently I was looking for a Smith 10mm. I found 6 and all but one were gone within 2 weeks, that one was priced about $250 too high. Maybe the 10mm doesn`t sell as well as 9mm or .38 special but .357 Sig isn`t on that fancy chart either (supposed to be a hot seller no?). How bout .38 Super,or.400 Corbon,or .44 Special they`re not on the chart either are they "dead calibers" too? I`d bet money factory 10mm outsells .400 Corbon and .38 Super combined yet they`re not the subject of all this negative propaganda. Oh well,I`m very happy with the 10mm and for those who believe all the bunk too bad they`re just missing out. Marcus

I have always been extremely impressed with the 10mm. I have no use whatsoever for the .40 S&W round. If I choose a full-size carry gun, it is a 1911 .45 ACP. If I choose a more compact gun, it is a Kahr MK9 9mm or a S&W J frame .38 Special. The only two auto calibers I own are 9 and .45. If I were to venture into another caliber, it would most likely be the 10mm. I would probably either get one of the Stainless Colt Delta Elites still floating around, or get a Kimber .40 and have it converted to 10mm. I think Dane Burns does this conversion.
