That's a view that's been going around the gun culture for awhile, but it's neither the complete or the accurate story. There were political reasons for turning the operation into a siege. While it's understandable to be outraged, I don't think it's really applicable to the situation at hand.She was murdered by an FBI agent because the FBI was scared to knock on their door.

FWIW; the woman was reportedly armed(she had a loaded revolver in her waistband).
Huruchi or Hatuchi according to some accounts documented her position & was given a green light to decide if he could get a clear shot at her.
Huruchi was a highly trained FBI agent & a graduate of the US Military Academy(West Point).
The Ruby Ridge/Weaver incident is hotly debated. The FBI's HRT(Hostage Rescue Team) & the elite SOG(Special Operations Group) of the USMS were the main law enforcement units involved. The non fiction books No Heroes & Cold Zero detail what went on during the events.
To my knowledge Randy Weaver got a $3,000,000 judgement from the US Dept of Justice. Special Agent Huruchi became the scourge of many gun & tactics instructors like Jeff Cooper.
