I don't think those tank rounds arm until fired, like M203 grenades have to rotate x number of times before they arm.

CMP is "Civillian Marksmanship Program." The federal government will sell you one M1Garand or other rifle per calender year (one in December and one in January is OK), for about $350-$550 depending on condition. The program seems to be directed towards arming the true militia. Here's the link to their web site:

I also know Kevin B. mentioned by Highpower1 earlier. I agree he did a great job with the sounds. BTW, he did use all original weapons. The part that kills me is the folks that were in charge of sound for the movie and recording Kevin didn't even want to pay him for the ammo. After a good debate, they finally gave in.
