Remington Model 700 Question

Have a guy trying to sell me a left handed rem mod 700 in 308. It has a bull barrel an is 26" long. A McMillon stock. AX stamped on side of barrel. It is stamped Rem Model 700 . He claims it to be a 5R. My research does not show a 5R in that length barrel. Can anyone help me maybe identify this gun? He said it came with this stock on it. Nice gun but I would really like to know exactly what this setup is before I purchase it.

I've only seen 2, both had 24" stainless barrels. The stocks were slightly different depending on when they were made. Are you certain of the 26" measurement?

If you measure from the front of the bolt face it is 26". I will have to count rifling . The stamped AX on the side of the barrel I believe is the date code, and if I understand it correctly this was Dec. 2006. I have the serial # . If I contact Rem. would they be able & willing to give the specs for this gun?

It kind of sounds like you are describing the Remington Sendero. They have heavy 26" tubes and a high-end composite stock made by someone out of house. They are very nice rifles with high prices to match the high quality and accuracy.

I am going to try to get in touch with Remington with the serial# & see if they might help me. Thanks for the info so far.
