Remington gets it 50% right...

UPDATE 3/30

Called Customer Service and spoke to a Manager this morning.. Gun is going back.. They want a complete detailed report of all of the problems with the rifle so that they can have a little heart to heart with the "service technicians" who botched the job... I received the we are "very sorry" response from the manager and "let us make it right." I will recieve the shipping tag in the mail sometime next week.. Basically, I would replace the trigger and refinish the lower section of the buttstock to make the gun right. Hopefully, the issues will be rectified this time... Not giving up on this...

sorry to hear about your rifle problems. after reading the many poor reviews of Remington I'm glad I didn't buy one when I was researching new rifles. I guess I find it hard to believe that a company with so much history has stained their reputation due to shoddy workmanship in their product. I won't be buying a Remington anytime soon

lesson learned I hope.

Never buy a new Remington again or an Express anything. Remington is the worst excuse for a gun company I can think of right now. Even S&W is not this bad.

New 700s and 870s are a waste of steel and PLASTIC. They might as well be selling you raw materials.

I have an 870 Wingmaster from the late 70s and love it dearly. I may buy Remington again even but it will also be from the late 70s or earlier. That is what I like about guns. They are durable goods. I dont have to buy new so I wont.

Remington is a great brand. But once you start to learn about guns. You know that there only good shotgun is the 870.

sad to see what is happening to my once favorite company. They need to quit trying to compete w/Benelli and Beretta in the auto shotgun arena. That's a losing proposition. They need to take that energy and apply it to making the 870 and M700 the tough, quality, guns of yesterday.

In reality they will not have a heart to heart with the service techs. It happens, its a large company, for them to send a shipping label means nothing, the same sap who messed it up is going to get the same terrible pay to try and make it right again, and all the manager did was avoid another lengthy argument. I deal with warranty repair shops all the time. Most times even with out complaints they will send me a shipping label, thats why I always tell people to bring it back to where you bought it, unless it was very long ago.

Hope they make it right for you, I still think Remington makes a good gun, but their customer service needs some revamping. I am sad they bought out Marlin, Marlin was awesome, now I am sure it will be made worse by them.:(

I had a early S&W Sigma. I sent the pistol back to Smith 2 times for repair as it would not fire our practice ammo. They polished the feed ramp and put night sights on for me at no cost. Finally when it quite firing practice ammo the thrid time, I asked Smith if they would keep the pistol. They agreed. For my effort, I was given the option to buy any Smith for $95.00. This was way before the X frame so I got a S&W mdl 41 since I was shooting 22 bulls eye. I asked about the mags as I had 6 Sigma Mags. I ended up with 6 41 Mags. I was happy with the deal and got a Glock which has been trouble free.

I just want my gun to be right... I'm sure Marlin will suffer..

UPDATE:

I've officially thrown in the towel in regards to dealing with Remington customer service... I've ordered a Timney trigger for my rifle.. I will clean up the marks on the stock from the idiots in the service department.

My Reasoning:

The stock they scratched is floated and glass bedded... If they replaced it rather than refinishing it, I would be out even more $$$...

My local shop had a couple of 1894s from the new plant... Not impressed..
