Remington Arms leaving NY?

Spats I'm with you man! I'm an Arkansas boy myself and I would love it if Remington brought their gun plant to the same state where they produce ammo.
 
Kimber is still in Yonkers and the 7 capacity limit was probably in deference to their 1911s.

Don't forget Rohrbaugh is on Long Island as well
 
Fusion is just outside Binghamton also. He a small shop, minuscule by comparison. I wonder if he's planning to leave?

Not a doubt in my mind that both Oklahoma and Texas would welcome any arms manufacturer or related industry.
 
I doubt Remington will do anything until the Freedom Group is sold.

Probably not.

Remington has threatened to pull out of NY previously to do with restrictive laws that would result in losses of the Remington workforce and profits as with now. So the threats to move are definitely economic-based.

That a decision has been made is apparently just a rumor. Such a decision would be major news and does not currently show up today on CNBC or in any Google search.

It absolutely amazes me how many gun manufacturers are based in anti-gun states. I live near the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities, and in that area alone you have ArmaLite, Springfield, Rock River Arms, Les Baer, and Lewis Machine & Tool. All of them were on the Illinois side of the river until a few years ago when Les Baer moved across. The others are still there, under constant threat of their business being outlawed.
 
Don't leave out Home Sweet Home Alabama and the Home of the College Football Crystal Ball for the last four years. It might fit in well next to the Auto and Space Industry. :)

But any of the free states that are known not to be union sympathizing locales should really make it an easy decision to move south...

I am hoping that Beretta's active consideration to move out of Maryland will poen the dam on other major gun manufacturers to jump ship from gun-ban states as well. Beretta, Remington, S&W would e a nice start.

And there are lots of states with a city of "Springfield" in them as well!

Looks like Ruger has been long ahead of the game location wise.

We need a web map of all the firearms mfg by state! Color coded by gun laws, and whether a business is solidly staying put or considering moving; or code the mfg dot by whether local laws conflict with the products that company makes.
