Remington 870 Express Synthetic for self defense?

. So what shotgun for zombie threads about shotguns??I stand by my original comment here. An 870 of any flavor is a fine shotgun. I have 4 at present (and have owned several more). The 2 expresses in the safe have given as flawless a service as the police and the wingmaster. More roughly finished and definitely built to a "price point" but still 100% in my experience.

I've had mine for years: with the 18" barrel, it serves as one of my home defense weapons( along with my XD-45 and 1911), my backup ,last resort solution to charging wild fl. hogs up close, the 28' barrel is my duck gun, and the 24" rifled barrel for hunting whitetails in Ohio. Never a speck of rust, and never a failure of any sort. I oil it down with Ballistoil after most every outing.
