I wouldn't do to much to it but thats just me. It was meant to be a working mans pick up truck gun from the get go. But then again almost all of my hunting guns are "beaters" from being dragged around the woods constantly.
I got mine in 6mm (almost identical to .243) about 1.5 years ago on a craigslist trade. It was someones varmit gun with a harris bipod and a 4x16 scope on it. When I first shot it, factory remington ammo was grouping at a little over an inch. Then I got a decent load going for it and group size is now right around .5. The first time I cleaned it I found out that it had been glass bedded and the barrel had been free floated. Its a fun groundhog/coyote rifle and for 50 bucks and an old washing machine a pretty good deal.
