Remington 760 pump? Is it a good gun?

I've owned Rem 760 in 3006 that I bought used in 1962. It is accurate and totally reliable. I shoot 165 grain bullets and they are very accurate in the gun. It is accurate with everything I've put through it from 150 to 220 grain bullets, but I find the 165 grain is my favorite.

I can't praise that rifle enough!

Well no one's said it so far: One not so good thing about the 7600/7400 series of rifles is the trigger. It's as spongy as a barrier reef and has as much creep as a haunted house. However if you can get used to that, they will usually give 3 shot groups as well as a bolt gun in sporting trim.

The other thing I have experienced is that they function flawlessly with remington factory magazines. However, with other after market magazines, mine have always worked about as well as the government's health care web site. Maybe someone knows a good aftermarket brand that works (magazines, not insurance).
