Remember when you used to take everything?

Hm, yup...

I just shoot 22lr's now, I shoot my 38/9mm sometimes but like 90% its 22lr. I don't have $20 to waste on 38's when I can spend that on 550 of 22lrs.

ONE revolver, ONE bolt rifle, and ONE pump action?
I hate loading magazines for semi-autos. My collection looks very different.

I think the most I've ever taken on a single trip was 13 (primarily bolt rifles). But that was before most of my firearms were lost in a tragic landslide. ;)

That was one of those trips where I had high hopes to get all kinds of load testing, accuracy testing, and general practice in. But... I only ended up shooting 3 of them. Most weren't even taken out of the cases.

Just me here, and my thought is when getting home and breaking out the cleaning supplies and looking at all those guns to clean and saying, what was I thinking:eek: OH MY GOD!! Where do I start?????:(

When my daughter told me her fiance wanted to learn to shoot handguns I gathered what I thought was a representive sellection of the various types, actions, and calipers he should become familiar with. By the time I was done I had over a dozen. I think that was the most I have ever taken to the range at one time.

I tend to take more than I should,,,

I tend to take more than I should,,,
Because I do enjoy shooting different guns,,,
One thing though is I always take my current carry gun.

Took my CCW class alot-o-years ago. Last day was spent at the range and the instructors told us we could bring our own guns! My buddy and I emptied our safes of handguns!:D

After the final instruction, the instructors said "bring out your personal weapons". We produced 37 handguns and ammo to match. All the rest of the students spent the next 4 1/2 hours trying out every one of them.

It was great fun and a bunch of people had the opportunity to shoot guns they had never shot before!

So I must say, the most guns I have ever taken to the range at one time is 37!

^ now that was nice of you and just what newbies need, good on you:)

I only shoot two at a time and it's always a .380 and.45acp I got a couple of guns in each caliber

I never take more than 2-3 guns to an indoor range. I don't particularly enjoy indoor ranges much after I've become familiar with a gun.

Shooting on open land on private property is what floats my boat. It's not unusual for me to take 6+ in that case and food for the grill and make a day of it. :D

I normally only take 3 or maybe 4 if I'm just shooting by myself. I did take two friends out to the range to introduce them to shooting and I remember taking 8 or 9 on that trip. They wanted to try everything. The wife really got excited when she touched off the Judge.

I only take two, sometimes three guns to the range. That allows me to concentrate on a particular gun a bit more. It also means less time cleaning. :) Sometimes I only shoot one gun but I have another in the event there is a gun failure or I forget to pack the mags for one (happened once). That way, it won't be a wasted trip to the range.

I usally take 3 guns but I only end up shooting 2 and even at times if I really get into the first gun I might only shoot 1. Most often I start with a rimfire and then a centerfire gun.

Can't imagine having to clean all of them afterwards

I generally only take 2-3 with me each trip, and one is usually a .22... although if I'm going with someone (which is rare) I might bring 5-6 so they can try my latest acquisitions

When I go to the range, it's generally a day trip. Two of the ranges I shoot on are berms on private property and the third is a small sportsman's club range that sees little use other that the month before gun deer season. I generally take half a dozen handguns and 3 or 4 long guns. I also take a portable shooting bench and a coupla Shepard's hooks to hang bowling pins/plastic bottles from. I generally do not shoot alone

I remember those days when the is a designated gun car that would be stuffed to the roof with passenger seats down and the suspension sagging .... man the trip back/unpacking/cleaning sucked  and on top of that I'm very antsy that we inadvertently forgot a gun at a range

nowadays just 3 at most

In the summer I take 2-3 hand guns, normally my carry guns, a couple 38s and my 45 acp and a couple rifles, my M1 carbine and my AR 4 or a couple 22 rifles. I am retired so very trip to the range is a play day. I shot, clean, reload, repeat.

Usually three, sometimes more. but I also spend the better part of a day at the range. In addition to whatever I'm working on, bought new, or just had a hankering to shoot I always do some practice with one or more of my CCW choices.
The record was one weekend last August. A friend held a "sight in day" on his farm in Northern Missouri. Lots of guys came up for the weekend, or at least the day. Some experienced, and a few young guys that were just getting interested in shooting. I made a gun rack for the bed of my pickup that held 10 long guns. Plus 3 or 4 in cases underneath the rack. A couple range bags stuffed with handguns, and several 50 cal boxes of ammo. Great fun, but I was cleaning guns for two weeks!!! This year I think I'll introduce some of the new guys to the fine are of gun cleaning!!!:D

"I made a gun rack for the bed of my pickup that held 10 long guns. Plus 3 or 4 in cases underneath the rack. A couple range bags stuffed with handguns..."

My neighbor host this very same type event on his farm, every Labor Day weekend. Strangely enough, he asks me to bring along "a few rifles people might like to try". Putting a dozen or so in cases, un-caseing them after a mile of hayfield, then wrapping everything back up is a pain. Maybe you could share your ideas?

Oh, as to the OP's question, I always take my current CCW, a .22 rimfire, and one of the N frames. Sometimes, I'll also bring out one that looks as if it's been idle just a bit too long. When I take rifles, there's usually a favored .22 LR, center-fire bolt gun, and an AR. The AR doesn't usually get much range time, as it serves Woodchuck Duty almost daily.
