The ADL's are out there at places other than Walmart. I've seen them at Dicks, and Academy Sports and Sportsmans Warehouse for around $350 in blue, $470 ish in stainless with a cheap scope. I was quite tempted to buy one in stainless.
I'd just as soon have ADL, especially in a Remington. Their bottom metal is pretty flimsey anyway. The ADL's are lighter, have stiffer stocks, they are less expensive, shoot just as well and have 1 less thing to go wrong. I've had one for close to 40 years and my Kimber has a blind magazine. It takes about 3 seconds longer to unload.
Walmart can sell the budget guns at reduced prices because they buy in bulk, but can order anything they want. You can go in and leave a 50% deposit and they will order anything you can get at any other gunshop. But the price is about the same since they are no longer getting the bulk prices.
