Reload or Buy 8mm?

FWIW, any time you neck down cases, especially if the case is also shortened, be sure to ream the case neck. If the case neck turns out too thick, it can prevent the neck expansion necessary to release the bullet and raise pressures to the danger zone.

I reload 8mm with cast bullets, some in 8X57 JS brass, some in 30-06 brass turned down by a gunsmith.. It works just fine. Since the action is almost 100 years old, I keep it to light cast loads, but reloading for 8mm isn't any more difficult than any other caliber I load for. Also shooting cast bullets saves even more money if that fits in your usage plan.

At my LGS he sells once fired 30-06 for $5.00 for 50 so 100 cost me $10.80. Pimers cost $4.00 I used the bullets that I cast myself and 4000 grains of 3031 so I was able to reload them for under $.50 each.

CowTowner....that ammo you posted the link to is corosive.

BFD. Every round fired in his rifle before it came in to his possession was corrosive. Clean accordingly, it is not an issue.

%70 of the ammo I fire in total is corrosive. % 100 of the ammo Ive fired in this rifle have been corrosive.

So it's not much of a problem. :)
