Regarding 1911 barrel bushings

When it comes time I will replace the bushing with an egw angle bored example. I have some dial calipers I will use to measure my barrel OD, and have one custom made. But I think before I do that, I would rather replace my safety and recoil spring setup. I don't like the huge ambi safety on the pistol, and don't like the idea of needing an Allen wrench to disassemble my pistol. Also I would like slotted grip screws because a flat head screw driver or bottom of the magazine can be used instead of a tiny Allen wrench.

Can't say 's I blame you.On occasion I've looked at a new pistol and the thought of replacing those two parts before even shooting it has mercifully put
me off buying it.
