Redhawk or model 29 shooter input?

Here is my example of 44mag lethality way with in any guns comfort zone: 240 Hornady XTP with a mild load of 1360FPS. These are low recoiling loads that you could easily dump a whole cylinder in double action in a crisis situation. I am not even going to hunt with my hotter loads I had worked up.
This deer dropped in its tracks from a double lung hit from 175yards. That is realistically three times the distance of normal handgun hunting shot (give or take). The bullet completely opened up dumped all its energy while dumping the deer. You couldn't ask for anymore results, even from a rifle. I have killed a few black bear but none with a handgun (yet). This is exactly the same load I would use for hunting black bear. I have no doubt it has plenty of snot for giving the same results on a black bear with the proper shot placement.

I have not owned either. I have shot both.

For me the the Redhawk does not meet my basic criteria for purchasing a pistol or revolver. For some reason the sites do not naturally align.

The Model 29 seems to fall into alignment naturally. This allows me better accuracy on follow up shots. After all it is the "Dirty Harry gun".

I am currently looking in to purchasing a Super Blackhawk.

Basically, you should purchase the one which fits you.

We can advise you on the technical aspects of your choice. There have been many excellent comments on this subject. What we can not advise you on are the intrinsic s. Those things which make a pistol shootable for your body type and needs.

Good luck and hit the target.

Here's my take on 44 revolvers:
I tried the stainless S&W in the 6 and 5 inch. They proved to be a little too long for a number of carry situations, but were just fine for sitting at the ready in the house or shop. I sold those in favor of a 4 inch model that seems to do well anyplace including sitting with a belt holster in the car.
I first used a 6 inch blued steel S&W for deer hunting but regrettably scuffed & scraped the finish on the large snowsuit leg zipper.
Thinking a better deer hunting choice would be a longer barrel 44, I bought the Ruger in stainless and am very well pleased.
A shorter S&W 44 mag for home & carry as well as a long barrel Ruger 44 mag for hunting, to me, it a good balance.

They're both good shooters, the Ruger is hell for stout but heavy, the Smith will slick up better with a good gunsmith doing the work.

"the Smith will slick up better with....."

I'm not sure about that, my Ruger 5.5" Redhawk has a pretty darn slick trigger, no gun smith needed here.
