Red Dot Piggyback Mounts and Optics

I'd like to mount a red dot optic to my precision rifle get up. However, if I'm going to splurge on a Trijicon RMR then I want the option of detaching and utilizing that optic on multiple platforms such as a glock 21 or a . Obviously zeros will need to be recalibrated upon de/reattachment. So what are some combinations you guys have tried?
 
Why ask why? Does it really matter?


As far as the OP: you might want to look at Leupold's delta point. They sell it as a kit with multiple mounts.
