red dot on revolver

4 inch is the minimum barrel length. With an UltraDot, that is.
I shoot this 625 a lot in various club matches.
Need to keep a lens wipe handy for the front lens that gets fogged pretty good.

I always shot 200 LSWC in it, but am switching to the Hi-Tek coated ones as I use up the old stock.

I like to hit small and I just can't do it with irons past 15 yds or so.

A thinner front sight post can solve this. I have a pair of Taran Tactical sights on my Glock 17 which is a thin fiber optic sight and are a world of a difference when reaching out or trying to hit small targets.

2damnold4this,

You got me there. I read the first part of your post and didn't see the bottom, and thought, now that IS blasphemy, and you're fanning it too!

Then I read the bottom. Good one.

When you get old, have eyesight problems and are wearing tri-focal glasses, it's either don't shoot or dot shoot.
I had given up handgun shooting until I got a Ruger MKII that was set up with a millet SP-1 red dot...One trip to the range proved how well it worked and I was back in the shooting game!
I now have one mounted on a Model 64 S&W 38 special and would like to get one of the smaller Fast-Fire sights on my AMT Hardballer.
I wish I could use irons like I used to but sometimes you just have to do whatever it takes to stay in the game.

I have a Millet red dot with BSquare mount on my 4" S&W Model-686. Very functional. I also have a Gilmore red dot on my 6" Model-29. They are both shooters, not fashion statements.

I have a 2x Leupold on my Ruger SRH. It works after your get used to a scope on a handgun. It was my first scoped handgun. I have a UltraDot on my BFR and it is faster to get on target. So, mount away and have fun.
