Recommend a snub .38?

I have a 1969 Colt Agent with a bobbed hammer, factory grips and Tyler T Grip that I pocket carry in a Mika holster. My belt carry gun is a '65 Colt Cobra with stag grips and a Tyler T Grip. I carry one or both all the time. I shoot the D frame Colts better than I do the Smiths and they carry 6 rounds. They're also like me, old and old school.:)

Another vote for the jframe here. I've carried mine for nearly two decades now. Don't go anywhere without it.

I carry a S&W 642....most of the time ..stoked with 148gr. Wad cutters and 148 gr. LHBWC loaded backwards....staggered load..

Happy S&W 442 owner. Wonderful little revolver. Lightweight and very smooth action after dry firing a couple hundred times.

I have the LCR, 642 and S&W bodyguard38, and I find any of them are perfect for pocket carry. After adding a slightly longer grip to it, the 642 is now my favorite to shoot.

Would you guys please stop recommending the Colts? They are hard enough to find and expensive as it is
+1 I don't know why people recommend a carry gun thats no longer made.

Old thread, but Ill comment anyway. Raindog said stay around $400 so I recommend a S&W 638. I got mine for $359, and I like it better than my KLCR simply because it has SA option, and is still "hammerless"(snag free) My SP101 2" DAO is a nice snub, but its a brick compared to the Airweight 638. I also have a Taurus 905(9mm) and its a good option in the $400 range also. There are lots of good quality, newly manufactured snub nosed revolvers in the $400 range.

Smith & Wesson 638 and Taurus 905
