Reasons for Winchester Model 94 superior accuracy?

Savage 340's can usually be found for good prices. I paid a little over $200 on Gun Broker for this one.
They allow you to tweek a little more fun out of the 30-30 cartridge.

Like shooting pointy bullets.

If you haven't guessed yet, I kind of have a love affair with small to med capacity rifle cartridges.
They give you a wide range of options all while staying well inside a high use of case volume for your powder loads. Perfect combo for shooting cast bullets.

My friend had a Marlin 336 in .35 Rem that shot well for a while, but suddenly, accuracy went away and bullets were keyholing on paper at 50 yards. The reason, we found, was that the front ramp screw hole was drilled too deep and dimpled upward from the pressures of hundreds of rounds.

IMHO, Micro-grooved bores seem more fragile than standard rifling. Corrosion can affect accuracy more quickly. They may also be more prone to crown damage when cleaned from the muzzle.
