Hello all -
I discovered this thread while searching for ES/SD numbers for .308 data.
I've used a Chargemaster for about 7 years now, and thrown somewhere in the neighborhood of 12,000 rounds. I had an issue early on, where occasionally it would throw over by .1 gr. of powder. It would do it only occasionally, maybe 3 out of 200 rounds. I use Varget (it's my all time favorite), 2200, 2400, 4895, and 748, and the occasional 700X.
I fixed the issue completely by mistake one evening - by changing the type of overhead lighting I was using, from fluorescent, to incandescent. Miraculously, my overthrows disappeared, and my 'battery issues' on my digital calipers disappeared as well.
If you find that after replacing your p/u tube, and closing/half-closing the door, using a powder baffle, half loading the powder storage, etc. that you are still experiencing occasional overcharges, try changing lights one evening, and see if it helps.
Best of luck.
