RCBS calipers

I have Brown and Sharpe micrometers and gages, my B&S tools were not made by the same company making them today. And then there is my run out gage, it is 110+/- a few years old. It works; problem, there is no replacing it.

And then there was my electronic gage from Pratt & Whitney; it would measure .000005”, it would not measure 2.000005” unless I set it up with a standard 2.000” block. I removed the electronics and then installed a dial indicator on the stylist.

It is ignorant to even think anything with moving parts will not wear out, or has zero tolerance when it starts out. Only 20 years? Maybe you just can't tell wear when you feel it. Guffy is right. B&S is not US made. Has not been for years.

Come on now...the Dial Caliper made the Vernier Caliper obsolete.

I would say for 0-6" that digital/dials have made the old slide rule/vernier obsolete. That said I still use them from time to time as a 60" vernier is about $1000 cheaper than other options and they are much more durable than other instruments.

Ah, yes. The reply of the true BS artist. Change the subject to what you do know something about. What does polyphemus spell? Could it be your computer skills are somewhat lacking also?
