Range visit

I love it when the charcoal burners come to the range I frequent.

Amid the crack-crack-crack of the pistols and 223's, a big, deep BOOM! And everyone notices.
 
Exactly my reaction

When I shift over from the smokeless stuff to the BP stuff.

I checked in with the guy who rents the house next to the field when I started shooting just out of courtesy. I began with the semi-autos and then got out the Winchester. Full loads of BP in .44-40 prompted him to come down and say, "What in the world are you shooting?"
 
"5. I shoot not just for shooting but for solace."

That's it in a nutshell for me.

Wow, Doc, and you were only shooting 3 black powder pieces...It would take me a raft of paper to print all this and the comments from this! Great conversations, though!
