Rainbow Six: The MOVIE?

Who played the Marine sniper in Clear and Present danger. I think he'd be the perfect Ding.
leave Ford as Ryan.
How about eithet Harvey Kietel or Robert DeNiro as Clark? Berenger would be OK too.
Paul B.

Berringer for Clark. they should of kept Baldwin for Jack, but in this upcoming movie he would look to young to play the pres. Ding should stay the same. He has tons of experience in military movies. I would be the terrorist that gets shot on the entry after they toss a flash bang. No mask so I can get exposure for the next terrorist scumbag gig.

The actor of the Ding Chavez scout/sniper in Clear and Present Danger is Raymond Cruz.

You can see a list of other movies he's been in HERE.

I Liked Defoe as Clark. but as far as as "6" film goes Defoe and MOST of the other actors are too young and in too good of shape to play Clark. Remember this is the Clark as a GRANDFATHER.. Maybe Tommy lee Jones would work... but Berenger, DaFoe and Biehn and Reno would make good team guys. Ding could be plavyed by Cruz or by the now nearing middle age Lou Diamond Phillips, or the always intense A. Martinez (powow highway, ghost)

I for one didn't think the book was very well written.. the bad guys who make all these radical well planned moves through out the story just BLOW it on having NO contingency plan??? And Austrailia is the EASIEST place to quarantine !!! The superspy screws up and drops his papers in an airport trash can because he's jet lagged??? LAME. The good guys don't make mistakes like that. The bad guys should not be complete idiots. (remeber these are supposed to be bad guys that made it this far by NOT screwing up) Plus there is an EXCESSIVE amount of gadgitry gimmicks (hey I saw this gizmo at the sharper image.. lets write it into the story). The FBI guy SAVES the DAY at hereford (whacks three tangos) and doesn't even get a nod.. BAD storytelling.

I've seen the "biological threat" story told better in "the first horseman" and the possibility brought frighteningly REAL in the non-fiction account "the Hot Zone" Less guns more brains in these works but I think much better written.

There is another book I read (can't think of the name) where a "doctors without borders" doctor gets involved in a terrorist bio-plague and there are a LOT of politics (very left) i didn't care for but the BAD guys actually TEST the bad juju stuff in brazil and rural washington state. The "terrorists" are actually a small batch of pharmecutical company types. The bad juju gets released in altlanta the guy gets the girl and runs for congress.. blah blah. But the SCIENCE was good in this one.

Sometimes the STORY should come before the gunplay.

As for Blackhawk Down.. I'd hire some of the soldiers I saw Interviewed on frontline to play themselves. in fact... I'm not sure its a story that "needs" to be dramatized.

Off my soapbox,

Dr.Rob

That film is in production now, by Orion Pictures. The characher Jack Ryan, will be played by Kevin Spacy. Robt. Zamicas production. It's slated for release in the summer of 2,001. I can't recall who did the screenplay adaptation.

Berenger = Clark..... that would've been nice, but I liked Willam Dafoe. Terrence Knox from the old "Tour of Duty" TV Show would've been good too....
But, when I started thinking along the lines of a "grandfather" Clark, only one name came to mind: Richard Crenna.

Micheal Biehn would've made a good Ryan...
I can't tolerate Baldwin. I liked Harrison Ford in the role.

My pick for Ding is definitely Richard Chavez (Ramirez in Predator).

I have to agree that R6 was a "packaged" product. TC's best books were WR, RSR and PG, if you ask me.

How about Cheech Marin as an older 'Ding'. LOLAOTFF :D :D :D

Seriously, I was thinking someone should make Black Hawk Down into a film. It's a natural. But it's such a bummer watching all those guys get shot up...
