Raging Bull 44 Magnum

Took the plunge, ordered the Taurus Raging Bull. My local dealer can't find the 8" barrel so I settled for the 6.5 inches stainless. I figured two inches wouldn't have mattered much. Anyway, it should be here soon... This will be my first 44 magnum ever... I can't wait!!

Before all the negativity starts pouring in from the Taurus bashers, it's a well built great shooting reliable firearm. You will enjoy it! I, as well as my buisiness partner have had ours for quite a few years now and no problems. It has been good enough that I parted ways with my S&W .44 Mag. I have shot quite a few Whitetails and Hogs with mine. Enjoy with peace of mind, you made a good decision. Please post your initial opinion, once you have gotten it and had a chance to fire off a few rounds.

Taurus makes a good revolver. Their Raging Bull series are just as tough as any Ruger revolver you can buy. Fit and finish wise they're nothing to sneeze at either although I find that Rugers are better finished than the Tauruses... S&W and Colts are better finished than Rugers IMHO but its not worth the extra money for me and I like the robust nature of the Rugers.

I almost bought a Raging Bull when I was looking for a .44mag revolver but I got a deal I couldn't pass up on a Ruger Super Redhawk. Having already owned a Ruger revolver I figured I really should pick up a big sister to my little Single Six .22 revolver - especially for only $400 NIB!

Love the bull

I've had a raging bull 44 mag for a long time now. Put a scope on it and have killed two deer. When I get it out at the range it gets attention. Guess I need to post a pic. Will do that when I figure out how.

Anyway, I did have to replace the extractor spring. Taurus send me one free of charge and it was easy to put in. It's easily one of my most fun guns to shoot.

You'll love it.

I'm looking at getting one this weekend. Also 44 mag. Will be my first 44 as well. Dealer has a new 4 inch barrel stainless for 550. Is that a good price. Anyone had any trouble with theirs.

i always wanted a 44 mag raging bull which i would scope. when i was looking tho i found a taurus mod 44,in 44 mag that i picked up at a good price. it is a 4" gun, ported, accurate and easy to shoot. i still want a raging bull, maybe i'll sell my redhawk.

I have one in the .44 mag ,but with the 8" barrel. Yes thats a reasonable price. I paid just over $600 with tax and all. That was quite a few years ago but you can still get them for around $600 to $650.

coop2564,

That's a fine looking gun!! Mine would look just like yours except for the red dot... I might get a regular scope though.

I picked up myRB last night. I won't be able to go to the range until next weekend. It's too wet right now here.

First impression: I may have gottten a display shipped to my dealer, because there're slight scratches on the gun and the gun is really dirty as if it's been on display. The fit and finish is not the best out there but it does look good. The d/a trigger pull is kind of gritty at first but after cleaning and applying some gun oil it smoothed itself out a bit. Single action pull is awesome! It's almost as good as my .45 XDM... Anyway, it looks very intimidating... I can't wait to take it to the range.

I have a Red dot I use on mine when hog hunting and it works great. But during Deer season, I have a scope mounted on it. Either way, very fun and effective peace to hunt with!

Those are good looking guns. They're one of the few taurii I would consider owning if I found one for the right price. Lead bullets and trail boss loads probably shoot like a dream!

For 'Raging Bull' fans, you should check out the Jean Reno film 'Wasabi'. It is kind of like a comedic French Dirty Harry, where 2/3rds of the story is in Japan. Jean Reno uses the Raging Bull in Japan. First time I remember seeing that distinctive grip in a movie.

At the beginning he is using a S&W 686, I believe.

So, he prefers .357mag, not DH Callahan's .44mag.

Fun movie. It is French, but comes with a choice of either English subtitles or English sound track [and Jean Reno does his own voice for the English soundtrack].

Ok, now back to the topic at hand.
