Found this on the J Stevens Arms Company...........
1920 - Someone also mentioned that prior to being bought by Savage in 1920, Stevens guns were stamped with "J. Stevens Arms & Tools Company". After they were bought , the name stamped on the guns was "J. Stevens Arms Company", which was discontinued in the late 1940's.
