Quality ammo prices... Better than Cabela's?

I shop at ammoman.com for bulk purchases; their prices aren't that much cheaper than stores, but there's no sales tax charged and they ship for free, which saves me the 75-mile round trip to Cabela's ... I can never find SD ammo at a closer Wally World, tho I do buy range ammo there in an emergency ...

Quality hollowpoints for self defense are going to cost around $1 per round regardless of caliber. You're not going to find good SD ammo significantly cheaper than that anywhere.

A little off topic, but I would have a real hard time going to a range that wanted to charge me extra to shoot my own ammo.

After buying a couple of boxes from the range, how do they know if you are shooting theirs, or some you had brought in your range bag?

I never leave the range without all my empties, which I promptly reload. Inevitably I miss a few, & on occaisionally need to buy a box. We have Wally World, & three Sporting Goods stores, plus several small local Hardware & country stores with ammo for sale.
And, here's the best part, (Gosh I Love Pennsylvania:D) I have 3 "Three" Sportsmens Club ranges within 3 to 6 miles of my home. One, the membership is $5.00 per year, one is $7.50 per Year, & if you want to go high class, the last one is $40.00 per year. And, You can shoot any ammo, in any legal to own weapon, with no hassle !

I get the whole "puchased here" rule for rental guns. I may not entirely agree, but their gun, their rules. Fair enough.
As for shooting only ammo purchased at that range in my own guns, they can go pound sand. I'll drive a good distance to avoid that. At Impact Guns (Ogden), they may want to take a look at what your shooting out of your 7.62x39 due to potential range damage issues, but that's about it.
Aside from the obvious profit potential, what is the justification?

As for ammo prices, check Wally World first. If they have it in stock, it's probably reasonably priced. Online is cool to if you can find a deal on the shipping. Sportsman's Warehouse isn't to horrible if that's your only choice.
But then I think most factory ammo is expensive, just to varying degrees.

Stuff like this makes me really glad that I only pay $150/year for a range that has trap/skeet, outdoor rifle & pistol, indoor pistol, and primative range. I can shoot what ever I want from wherever I want.
