Put up pics of your hunting rifles, especially turnbolts...

"sorry... edited to say...7mm Remington Magnum"

You're a good man. :)

Yeah, nice Winchester pump - gotta love old school rimfires.

Goodwrench, forgot to mention - it's nice to see someone with a .25 Souper - a great efficient wildcat round that never caught on but should have (and would have but for .257 Robts' popularity).

Hey godale, if you edit your posts above in this manner, then your pics will appear "in the thread" instead of just being linked:

1. Right-click then "copy" the link that is on the existing post.
2. Click edit the existing post.
3. In the tool bar at the top, click on the square icon that looks like a mountain with a sun in in, to the left of the quote icon.
4. When the dialogue box appears, right click then hit "paste" in the empty space where it says "http://"
5. Hit ok, then save the edited post.

OK... shot fired ( looks like I need an oily rag & some time for dusting this wall :o ) the BRNO's & CZ's

Personal preference only, but those Model 70 Winchesters are hands down some of the most beautiful rifles out there with original wood and checkering. JMO:)

Beauteous, MWM!! Thanks for posting.

The rifles that give me the greatest pride of ownership are FN-made Winchester 70s, CZ 527s & 550s, and the T/C Icon Classic, especially the Winchester 70s ... closely followed by Weatherby Mark V & Browning A-Bolt II.

thought I better include this one, since it's shot more animals than all my others combined...

17 Mach 2... started life as a Marlin 780 in 22 LR, this pic is how it looked after the conversion... ( years ago ) the last couple years, it's been wearing a 2-7 BSA Sweet 17 scope...

I wanted to build an all-around hunting rifle that would be suitable for anything from prairie dogs to elk. Maybe moose.
I chose the .280 Remington cartridge for its ability to handle lightweight varmint bullets, medium weight deer bullets and heavy (175gr) slugs for the big stuff.
I wanted a fairly lightweight rifle with a 20’ barrel for the woods and a rain-proof synthetic stock.
The scope had to have a suitable power range, not be too expensive (I’m on a retired military budget), but still be of high quality. I picked a Nikon 4.5-14X with BDC.
To start, I bought a used Remington 700 barreled action in .270 Win and sent it to E.R. Shaw for a 20” medium weight spiral fluted barrel in .280. I’ve used Shaw barrels before and always found them to be very accurate.
I ordered a Hogue stock in a custom-order-only pattern, a Timney trigger, a set of one-piece rings & bases, a die set, cases and bullets.
When the barreled action arrived, I slapped the parts together, loaded some ammo (Speer 160BTSP/48.5/AA4350/Fed 210 in R-P cases) and went to the range. Right from the first, groups were under 1” at 100 yds. Most of them run 5/8 to ¾” and point of impact never changes.
I don’t know what else I could ask for!

Try this again...accidentally deleted it first time.

Someone asked me by PM about a .280 rifle. I think they're referring to a .280 AI I had but sold from page 1.

Nevertheless, here are some better/closer up pics of the remaining turnbolts, one of which is in .280 Rem "regular" (the crazy one with ugly paint job).

This is my New England deer hunting rifle. A Winchester Model 70 Feather Weight chambered in .30/06. I feed it my hand loads, worked up around a Nosler 180 grain Partition. It's accurate, and a real nice, light rifle to carry through the New Hampshire woods.

These are what Im bringing to Vt friday minus the scope on the Marlin. I leave the bolt actions at home as they don't offer the quick follow up shots sometimes necessitated by the deep woods thick brush hunting I do there. And i can't really see taking any shot over 100yrds. The marlin is great up there especially with the ghost ring sights. I spend the entire day walking and I don't like slinging my rifle. So having a gun the I can carry in one hand by the reciever is very nice.

Exactly what I do except I'm in Maine. I'll be toting my 44 lever into the woods today. Finally dropping into the 20's and reportedly the bucks are starting to take notice of does--all the does I've seen so far have been wandering around wondering where the boys are.

My most recent acquisition. Stevens 325-C .30-30

Top two are shotguns but the bottom is an NEF .30-06 with a laminated stock. I bought it as it is so I'll be stripping the paint and refinishing.

My guns

I'm not currently hunting but I picked up a Marlin 1895gbl for hog hunting, my old rig was a Savage 110 that I traded last summer for a "really nice high standard target pistol that shoots amazing!" that NEVER WORKED!!!

I was so sick about it I sold the High Standard (advertised it didn't function properly) for a huge lose...I miss this Savage all the time and I will build another but next time in 308 not 30-06...

My new Marlin...

My old Savage :(

M-S in .30-06, taken while out hunting with it, so I guess it qualifies. I've had zero luck even seeing game while carrying this one on several occasions. Meanwhile, its rifle brother keeps knocking 'em over when I use it.

Another '06, sorry that this one's not a turnbolt, but a HK 940 autoloader; picture taken during the WI early antlerless hunt some years ago. Got one doe with it then and the largest buck I've ever taken was with it during the regular season that followed.
