purchasing my 1st gun

I would go for CZ75 ... since it is your first gun, at some point you will want to carry it and good luck doing that with bereta... the CZ can be had in compact version - CZ75 compact that is an excellent gun for CC

FIRST GUN

For a variety of reasons, i would recommend a revolver chambered in 357 magnum as a first gun. 38 special ammo can be used; a revolver isnt put out of commision by a misfire as a pistol usually is. The only drawback with purchasing a revolver is you will be going against the current trend of high cap pistols. Enjoy your purchase. ...oh, by the way, practise, practise, practise! Of the guns you mention my preference would be for the Beretta. That's not to say that CZ is bad, it's definitely not.

As others have said, the advantages of a .22 are many.

So far it sounds as if you have good taste. A 92FS is of course a classic and I myself will own one some day. A CZ75 is a well respected firearm with highlights being it's reliability and it's grip angle. I personally started with a Glock as it was cheap and reliable, perfect gun to start shooting with. Most will tell you to start with a .22 and that's not a bad suggestion, allows you to learn the basics such as trigger control, grip, and breathing without messing up too much, my school of thought was to practice with what I was going to shoot and it worked out well for me.

I see your location is CHICAGO, Can you legally own a handgun? If so where would you store it?
Your first step might be to move out of the city or wait until the Supreme Court settles McDonald.
