LOL, I had to laugh when I voted "single" because I suspected I would be the only one.

Now there are two. I'm the other one.

Right now I have two pumps and two singles. I like 'em all. I'd also love to have an over/under, a side-by-side, and a good 12 gauge pump (both of my current ones are 20s). I could even be persuaded to give a self-shucker a chance. Maybe I should have held out for an "all of the above" option.

But for go-anywhere utility, uncontrollable-giggling fun, and (incidentally) distinct lack of appeal to gun thieves, I like the singles best.

I think you should have listed "SXS's" and " O/U's" separately ...

I'm not into shotguns for defense ( that's why I have 1911's ) ...so all of my primary shotguns are O/U's in 12, 20, 28ga's and .410's ....but that's because I shoot Skeet, Trap, Sporting Clays and do a little bird hunting.

I have a few pump guns / but they're all 28" barrels ...and predominately for bird hunting or some clays ...and all relegated to some training for new shooters these days.

I only have a few semi-autos / and they for general clays and hunting as well.. ( and I like a 30" barrel in a semi-auto).

but there is no right or wrong answer .....it depends on what you want the gun for ....

Since only 7 people total voted for double barrel as single choice, I don't see the need to refine it more. Simply vote double and if inclined post which type you prefer.

I did forget lever-action. Sorry.

I like Doubles in an O/U set-up. Mostly, I use my shotguns for trap/skeet/clays, so I'd keep an O/U before anything else.

Of course, I do love a nice pump and Semi- shotguns, too!
