Project Question

My budget isn't determined yet, but i am looking for sponsors and mentors that will have access to equipment and materials, I already got $500, but i know I won't get far on that....at all, but i haven't even started contacting potential sponsors yet..

Thanks guys, and I'm thinking maybe a pistol kit, any ideas?
 
A pistol kit is what I was thinking... A nice 1911 style. You'd have all sort of history to fill English reports. ;)

Even a high-end 1911 "kit" gun can be had for a good bit under $2,000, total.

Were it my project, I'd be getting a Fusion 10mm Long Slide but there are many other options to consider. The basic kit is around $895, some might be less. There are several additional costs/parts necessary depending on options.

Such a thing is a long way from actually fabricating your own gun but I'll bet that it presents enough challenges to make you glad it is. :)
 
Alright, sounds pretty good!

So how does ordering parts work? Do they all have to be pre-made and for the same model, or do pistol smiths smith them to work with what the parts they want...any further info on that?

I'm sure once I get a mentor they will be able to explain that all, I am just curious, thanks again
 
Check out Fusion Firearms website. The site sucks but the guns are great. They show all kinds of kits. You can email them and they'll be happy to give you an idea of additional parts needed and ballpark pricing.
