I'm curious how consistently this works for you. I've had some 308 Win cases for which I would get anywhere from zero to ten thousandths stretch after resizing. I never did figure out what the variation was about other than that it was Winchester brass from a lot with over six grains of spread in the weight and for which I was able to detect that it had come off four different sets of tooling.
 
Maybe because I batch by year and headstamp as well as times fired?

I started doing this back in the glory days of LC'68 in .50 cal cans & if you bought the brass by weight he'd throw in the can for free.
When I switched to the next lot a while later the LC '73 was very different for both stretch & powder volume.
