Pro gun question

Preventing a criminal act in your vicinity simply by allowing the criminal to KNOW there are others armed and capable of stopping them would be the greatest tactical triumph of all. YES?

Guess that works well for the police :)

I also think that many anti's, when you dig deep down, are cowards. And they masquerade cowardice as virtue.
Very well stated! and +1

This is a suttle thing and they cannot see it themselves...unless it's pointedly pointed out... and even then, they will deny it...shallow thinkers they are...;)

Well since there isnt any tactical advantage, those ARE the only two reasons. for open carry...

I think there is a tactical advantage to carrying a gun that doesn't require concealment...

Full-sized 1911 .45 vs. Snubby .38 for pocket carry

.357 with a 3" or 4" barrel

Ruger Alaskan

Israeli Desert Eagle .50 and .357

So many advantages... and you don't have to stick your hand in your pocket or inside your coat.

It's like the difference between a belt holster and an inside the pants holster... For fat old men... OUTSIDE the pants is the ONLY way that works. ;)

Not to mention more easily brought to bear.

No fumbling from under a shirt or jacket. No fumbling out of waistband. Certainly no delay getting it out of a fanny pack or other bag, purse, day-planner, etc.

I can certainly understand how you feel, Pointer. I live in the People's Republic of NJ and all I hear is that guns are the enemy.

Even with the proliferation of gang activity, very few want to think about CCW. But hey, I am an optimist. Truth and common sense will prevail!

Converting an anti is no easier that converting you to anti. It can't be done.
Yep, we're all fighting for the middle'ns.

And on open carry, sure if they're dettered they'll move on to the next target. Who will probably be a victim. Would you rather have eliminated the threat rather than seeing your neighbor's obituary? I guess it all depends on your situation and state of mind, we should all have the option. But I think the best aspect of open carry is that it forces people to see what we do.
