Why is it, that when we discuss, or read about, or poll people, about gun control...?

Nobody ever makes the point clear, that gun control ONLY controls the good guys!!!!!!! :mad:

Last night on TV an anti-gunnner was being interviewed and he said that registering, and making guns hard to come by, really works...

"...because all the guns used in crime in New York, are brought in from "out of state"... :eek:

Holy Sh__! If these idiots are allowed to succeed in outlawing guns... Where the hell do they think the guns will come from, then??? They will be smuggled in from "out of state" or out of country... :rolleyes:

Damn! These Liberals are not only liars and cheats, but they are truly "stupid".

I say, get an attitude... !

Pointer, have you ever tried to have a conversation with your dog? Like really try to explain something to it? You know how it gives you that look like it's trying to figure it out? Well drop that intelligence level about 10 degrees and that's what it's like trying to explain why gun control doesn't work to an anti-gun liberal.

Sad sad state of affairs. :(

I'm pi$$ed at the pro-gunners for not taking every opportunity to get this particular point across... not to the Liberals, but to the TV and Radio Public which is listening in...

Oh, they take the opportunity, all right, but the reality is that the TV and radio networks and stations simply will not air a pro-gun point of view.

LOL My dog actually understands a fair amount of what I tell her (gotta love Border Collies)--sometimes too much. So I think that 10 points lower for the anti's is giving them way too much credit.

You forgot about liberal Hollywood. You know, the place where they make the movies that nearly all have a gun or two in them at least. Where the good guy nearly always wins. And how does he win? Well, of course. Using his GUN. They even occasionally depict a citizen defending him/her self using a gun. They regularly show hunters and skeet shooters using...guns, and with no commentary one way or another. Just a prop.

I can't comment that much on TV except the news, which has become a vaudeville show since they realized sensationalism sells, even on the news. Can't comment on radio either. I haven't used mine since Neil Rogers left WIOD.
 
Converting an anti is no easier that converting you to anti. It can't be done.

The fact that there is a segment of the population who can and will take care of themselves freaks out the anti crowd. They cant' grasp the concept, and they are intimidated by gun owners.

I also think that many anti's, when you dig deep down, are cowards. And they masquerade cowardice as virtue.

The antis live in a place where facts are lies and lies are facts. The truth of it all is, that even when someone does make a pro-gun statement; famous or otherwise, they are considered a gun nut or vigilante.

It makes my head hurt. :barf:

I think you are absolutely right.

I believe that they are afraid to step up and be responsible for fighting back against evildoers (of any type); too eager to delegate that job to others (like the police, who are not even obligated to provide that protection); and then they pretend that those who are ILL-prepared to be self-sufficient are more virtuous than those who are prepared to do dirty work to see to their own defense.

It's like people in an office who need to cut something. They cry and cry for someone who has a knife with which they can cut what they need cut; and then when someone prepared shows up and whips out a simple Spyderco Delica and opens it with one hand, the job gets done, and then the first idiot says, "Eww, that's a scary dangerous knife. What are you carrying that for?"

Not so fast Wild. You make the point that the element of suprise is lost because the bad men see the gun you are wearing.
But how many of them are still willing to perpetrate the crimes they were intending WHEN they see it???
Preventing a criminal act in your vicinity simply by allowing the criminal to KNOW there are others armed and capable of stopping them would be the greatest tactical triumph of all. YES?
