Pro-Gun Organization

I'm a member. American Rifleman magazine alone is worth the price of membership.

I also get NRA ILA emails that keep me abreast of what's going on in the legislative and regulatory world without having to read every news outlet in the world to keep up to date.

You don't have to give them any money except the membership fee. Anything else is up to you

Sorry for the double, but I can't resist:

So am I.

It's a motive I understand well because I share it. I automatically suspect everyone who claims to be offering me something for my own good with no money involved. Usually they're lying. Either there is money involved, or it's not for my own good.

A free market is what happens when someone offers you something and you choose to either buy it, or not.

Are the people who work for the NRA not entitled to salaries consistent with what they could earn elsewhere in jobs requiring similar skills, training, education and experience -- and having similar responsibilities? Choosing to work full time for the RKBA should not require that one take a vow of poverty. The NRA is not a monastic order.

And what specific constitutional rights of yours does the NRA trample? First, of course, the NRA as a private organization is not subject to, nor regulated by, the Constitution.

But more importantly, the NRA has never made any secret of the fact that it is a one issue organization, i. e., its focus is exclusively the RKBA and the Second Amendment. If you're looking for organization to further other constitutional rights, you'll need to look elsewhere.

I decided I'll become an NRA Life Member. I'll buy it with Uncle Sam's tax refund he owns me. Is there a more American way to spend your tax refund? Didn't think so! :D

Thank you everyone for your help and advice!

Here's how I look at the NRA ... I've been a member for more than 20 years because, whether you agree with them or not on every issue, their 4m members provide huge political muscle which influences the way Congress members vote on 2A issues ... so, the more members, the more effective that muscle becomes ... Every gun owner should be a member; then, we'd never again have to worry about registration, outlawing carry, "assault weapons" bans, etc. Imagine an organization dedicated to supporting the 2a with 20 million members ... If you disagree with some stand they take or some politician they slam, make your voice heard ... but, please, join ...

Join the NRA and become a Life Member when you can afford it. Plus Life and 5 year members get to vote for the Board of Directors every year; you should also attend the annual conventions when you can. I think this year's meeting gonna be in St. Louis.
