pro gun celebs?

Lynn Russell from Headline News has a stainless Walther PPK/S and a private investigators license. Also some of the guys from 90321(?), the Spelling show on Fox about the kids from Beverly Hills. I never watched it and don't know the names of the people, but I read an article about a couple of the guys going shooting.

I saw an article in a gun rag a few years ago that had a picture of Paul Sorvino and Joanna Cassady at a celeb shoot of some kind.
He had a Sphinx .380 and I believe she had a Walther.

I am curious as to the folks mentioned as hypocrites in the Fox News article a couple of weeks ago. I did not see the article.

Either it has escaped ya'll or sumthin'.. but I'm pretty sure that good 'ole Mel Gibson fits into this category. Less we forget The Patriot :D

Did you see Lethal Weapon 4? There was so much anti-gun propaganda (signs and stuff in the background) in that movie it made me sick (but a good movie though). Not sure if Mel Gibson would take part in a movie that was obviously anti-gun when he himself is pro-gun. Kamakaze, Do you know for sure?

You can't blame Mel Gibson for HCI or antigun propaganda in the film. Set designer, prop master, director of photography, yes, onscreen talent, no.

Kurt Russel is indeed pro-gun. He is also a libertarian, but he isn't real vocal on either. If he is asked about it though, he doesn't hesitate to tell you that he is. One doesn't go around Hollywood announcing that you believe in personal freedom and responsibility and keep getting offers for lucrative scripts. While Hollywood was upset over McCarthyism, they sure don't seem to mind black balling someone who doesn't agree with their agenda.

Rick Schroder (sp?) you know, used to be a cute kid actor now he's on NYPD Blue. Saw him & Mr. Heston go against the liberals on "Politically Incorrect" one night. If I understood correctly he has a class III, likes to go out in the desert and cut loose with full auto "cause it's a thrill".

Dennis Franz has participated in NRA shoots. I also believe he's a former Marine and Vietnam vet, but I could be wrong.
Luke Perry, formerly of "90210," is very pro-guns.
He's not an actor, but noted writer/director David Mamet ("Glengarry, Glenross," "The Spanish Prisoner," script for "The Untouchables" and, under a pseudonym, "Ronin") has written several essays about his love of hunting and shootinh.

BTW, speaking of "That '70s Show", the episode they did on hunting was very open-minded for a network sitcom.

Yes it was. Even though the boy didn't want to hunt, there was no anti-gun/hunting preaching. As a matter of fact, he was proud of his proficiency with his rifle.

I'm fairly certain he's pro-gun. In an interview he did with somebody concerning The Patriot he did a lot of personal rights/freedom talk. He evaded every loaded question handed to him.. and his replies were so beautifuly crafted that I could have voted for him for president.. well.. not really -- but I thought he did rather well. Now.. if it was just a good plug for the move or not, I don't know -- but I still like him anyway. ;)

Hemlock0013, on Dennis Franz, you're partially correct. Vietnam vet, yes. Marine, no. He was a U.S.A. paratrooper with the 173/101 Abrn.

On "Lethal Weapon," the director, Dick Donner, has stated in an article I read, how he hates the NRA, gun owners, and that no one has a right to own guns, blah blah blah. Just another one of the Mega Millionaire Marxists who control what we see and hear on teeeeveeee and flicks.

Holy crap - that redhead ("Taylor" is her name on the show) is about the hottest thing alive! AND likes to shoot?!? I'm drooling.... Her and "Eva Savelot" really float my boat.

Robert Stack does hunting, skeet, and trap.

Hank Williams Jr. does cowboy shooting.

I haven't seen Utah Jazz's Karl Malone mentioned. I've seen quite a few baseball and football players over the years that are shooters and hunters, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

DONNA her name on the show is DONNA. There is no Taylor. Great show The dad is supposed to be a Guadualcanal vet.

Lt. Callahan in "Police Academy", not "Dirty Harry", right? That's Leslie Easterbook, and she's a highly competitive shotgunner.

Drew Cary is a libertarian. I'm not sure if he is a shooter, but I believe he is pro gun.[/quote]

If you haven't bought a copy of Drew's book, "Dirty Jokes and Beer", run out now and grab one. Not only is it hilarious, but he mentions that he owns an AR-15 and a 9mm handgun (type unspecified, but I belive it's a Beretta 92 series).

Carey is also a former Marine and was active in the reserves until just before he "broke" in show business. He has stated on several occasions that people have a right to self defense, and cites the L.A. riots as an example, when some of his anti-gun neighbors came over to his house for protection.

Plus, he hates Clinton with a passion.
