Printing....how much is too much?

As noted, most people just aren't sharp enough to pick out someone printing or even give it two thoughts. With that said though, I try to keep my printing to a min. They way I see it, no one needs to know that I've CCW.

I have been told in SC "as long as an effort is being made to conceal." In general, if it's not identifiable as a gun, it's ok.
That's pretty good for SC, as that's the usual attitude generally reserved for traditional open carry states, like Michigan.:)

We've still got our boneheads here, though, that freak out at the thought of a gun on somebody.

I try to keep it from becoming obvious that I'm carrying, but I don't worry about a bulge here and there.

Way I see it, unless you can very clearly see the outline of a gun it's fine. The things belong in a holster on your hip out in the open, not stuffed down in your drawers as we're forced to do now anyway.

I always used to think i was printing but know one ever knows I'm carrying. If people who see me everday (friends, family) cant tell then I think the average joe on the street is pretty clueless as well.

For those of us with an option, I think printing still beats OC any day. You get the benefit of the doubt, and a very noticeable print is still far less noticeable than OC when you consider people farther away or not paying attention. I will wear my G17 under a regular shirt sometimes, It's really no big deal for a short errand . The problem occurs when you enter the "grey area" of the law and really need to be concealed.

I'd say any more than the bottom of the mag/magwell slightly printing is too much. It's much easier to hide that with dark color shirts or patterned shirts, the thicker material the better.

All that said I was wearing a football jersey over my XD 45 with a wife beater under the gun and no one noticed. Not even the cops at the gas station I stopped at.

If you can see an outline of the entire grip (IWB) or the gun itself (OWB) I'd say some re-evaluation of carry method or clothing is needed.

Depends on where you live and what your state has on the books for laws covering the matter. As for most of John Q public, (condition WHITE), unaware of there surroundings and the people around them.
