Pretty as a pistol....

As everyone else has said, I favor function over form... but...

There are a couple of schools of looks in weapons: The "let it all hang out" school and the "shrouded", smooth-lines school. I liken them to the unshrouded and shrouded, streamlined steam engines of old. I actually like both. Some tend to be in the middle.

ojibweindian, I agree with you that the sleek, no-nonsense funtionality of the Ruger P-95 is nice in its own way. I like the combination of the smooth body and the presence of the hammer in the lock. The stainless slide is gorgeous, and even its interior is nice. I also like the smooth looks of the Ruger MKII .22 target pistol.

On the other hand, I also like the "let it all hang out" mechanical looks of the Beretta 92 line with the exposed barrel, especially the ones with the black stainless brigadier slide.

old_yout: From what I've heard on "Tails of the Gun", the Nambu's "car wreck" looks (nice description) match it's functionality. Supposedly it is exceedingly prone to accidental discharges, even when holstered.
